Due to high demand we've ordered two copies of the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. Our students love the off beat humor, simple illustrations and the crazy situations our hapless hero finds himself.  It's a winning formula that kids world wide love.

Life after Wimpy Kid……. yes there is! 
Award winning NZ Author, Kate De Goldi  has some great suggestions to move readers on. Here's a few to get started:     

Asterix series by RenĂ© Goscinny & Albert Uderzo and Tintin series by HergĂ©. These immortal books have great narrative drive, marvellous illustrations and sophisticated humour (Asterix has plenty of slapstick but also lots of language play). There are great casts of characters and inter-relationships. And there are heaps of titles in both series.

DK Eyewitness Guides: Electricity by Steve Parker.
Eyewitness Guides are a wonderful series on just about any non-fiction subject. The mix of illustration, diagram and text is beautifully balanced, and fine design and production makes the series eminently attractive and readable. These are books to pore over…
